Name: Faith Lehane Door: Right Canon: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Canon Point: Buffy Season 7, "Chosen", Series Finale Age: 23 Appearance: Pic History: Wiki Personality: Negative Traits: - Jealousy- Despite having moved past some of her issues with Buffy, she is still very jealous of the other Slayer. Faith still compares herself to Buffy constantly and finds herself forever in her shadow. Rather than lashing out about it as she might have when she was younger, she's more resigned to it. For instance, when she holds the Scythe, the weapon attuned to the Slayer, she states that it feels like it belongs to her but that must mean it belongs to Buffy.
- Impulsive-- Faith is prone to impulsive actions (sometimes at risk to her own safety). She doesn't always think through what she's doing and that's led to many issues where she would leap headfirst into battles, leading Buffy to call her 'Miss Attention-Span'. Rolled up in that impulsivity is her temper, she can sometimes be quick to anger and strike out without thinking. Her father, although she'd not had him in her life much had referred to it as the 'Lehane Temper' and something that ran in the family. She can also be sexually impulsive, pulling Xander to bed on a whim.
- Self-Loathing- She still has heavy self-loathing based on her past mistakes although she has less of a death wish than she had in her teenage years, having gone so far as trying to goad Angel into killing her for torturing Wesley. Faith still has a lot of self-hate that she is trying to work through, but her past actions forever eat at her as she tries to follow the path to redemption.
Positive Trait- Personable- She presents herself as confident in most situations. So long as she doesn't feel judged in which case she can have a quick and brutal temper if pushed as mentioned above. She's good at getting people to like her on first meeting, Buffy's friends at first before things went sour for example, and then again when she returned the young Potential Slayers gravitated toward her.
Something that plays very deeply into Faith's development was how she fell into 'darkness' and was ultimately pulled back from it and the constant struggle that she now faces in attempting to be a better person as well as working to prove to other people that she's sincere in her transition. Faith's fall was a downward spiral that began when she accidentally staked and killed the assistant mayor of Sunnydale while she was on patrol with Buffy. Because of her already building resentment for Buffy, she didn't want to take the other Slayer's help and tried to act as though nothing was wrong. This murder deeply affected her, and she was plagued by nightmares and ultimately it caused her to fall down into a pit of self-hate. She had been told she was bad news all her life and this act had solidified it. The anger and jealousy and her own self-hatred spiraled her out of control. Ultimately, the only way out to her mind seemed to be to simply do just be what she felt everyone expected of her: be 'the fuck-up'. The anti-Buffy. She was bad and she was going to do her damnedest to prove it.
After her redemption, Faith was a different person. She can still be angry, but it's less explosive (when she's attacked in the prison yard rather than trying to beat to woman into a bloody pulp she tries to reason with her), and she's capable of leading others (although she's reluctant of her skills after leading the mini-Slayers into a trap). She still runs into issues with not loving herself and of self-doubt, but now that she feels she has more support, it's gotten easier for her to see her own value. However, if she isn't around that reinforcement doubt can creep in.
Powers and Abilities: Faith is a Vampire Slayer and as such has super strength, heightened agility, speed, a natural ability with most weapons, and slightly accelerated healing. She also on occasion can have prophetic dreams. She can also sense vampires and demons. With vampires/demons who are not the kind in Buffy, I generally play that she can tell something is off about them but she may not know exactly what it is (will check with players before doing anything with this, however).
